question about sql setup !
i wanted to play a bit with sql files and followed the tutorials here on the site and got most things working but only thing that doesnt work is when i created a char and wanna log in then it just keeps counting .. i used the same port setting that i used for the non sql server and which worked always ... is there something that must be different in port settings or im missing something else ?

yea the ml and wl server run in db mode and i manually created an account in the sql dadabase then connected and created a char in client .. that char is in db too .. but when i try to login on hg it doesnt conect ... just waiting for response ...
i tried with diferent hgs now but always the same ...

ahve u configured the db to allow information be read, not only write?

I dun know your version of sqlserver nor how the hb client/server gets info from db, but at least you have to have this configured(img)

yes, but is your account on the computer admin over the db? And what rights do u have for the 'dbo'?

what sql server should i use ... i downloaded the version they posted in the tutorial and used a crack ...

, thats sum real old sqlserver, maby 2000. I suggest u keep the setupfile for it, and download the sqlserverexpress from msdn.com . Assuming you have a genuine windows xD. Cos iv only worked with sqlserverexpress 2005 and MSVS 2005. So if u dont upgrade cant help anymore

well im trying with the express version now but its givin me some problems setting up that odbc thingy when i enter the user and pass ... some connection error pops up ....
but with the server management tool i can login with that user and pass ....
bah now i get some error 233 with management login too .. still there even i already enabled the named pipes and tcp/ip ....

what error, can u post img or explain it better, cos do u have a administrator account on your pc? If you dont, you will have fucking much problems (if you know the administrator password but dun wanan change account, rightclick ->run as)

looks like some problem with the odbc driver .. i tried that odbcping but thats only for upper versions i think so i dunno how to fix yet ...

lol, if i got it right(dont speak german or whaterver that is), its just the sqladapter in the hbserver wich wont connect. Are u able to connect to your own computer?(when u start sqlserver up)
