editing pak?
i want to edit the pak files so that a grid appears all over the map. this would help me aim spells and crap. i wanted to know how do i open pak files and how big is 1 square in hb 3.93? so this way i can make my grids realistic to what the game considers a space, and would i be able to toggle it on and off?

Ok, if you wanted to toggle it on or off, you'd have to code that into the client to accept the different sprites. And Most likely it won't work, you might actually have to log off, then log back in. And I believe it would have to be accepted Server side too. I'm not quite sure about that. And there is a Pak that I have thats a regular map, but you've got the grids on it.

Its all the mapdata, and I have quite a bit since I've got customized maps. My mapdata library is 100mb+ all my grids are on them. and I believe each square is 50x50 pixels, You'll have to mess with it. Here's a little tut.
1. Find Drajwers Pak Editor.
2. Copy Aresden.AMD to a different File Location
3. Open Aresden.AMD in Drajwers Pak Editor.
4. Save it as a BMP.
5. Open a Graphics editing program, Photoshop, Fireworks, etc not Paint
6. Start Adding Squares somewhere with the size you think they are.
7. Copy your Original Aresden.AMD pak, to a different location again.
8. Add the Sprite you editted.
9. Load Helbreath.
10. Go to the Location you added the squares and see if you stand in them.
11. If you don't stand in the squares properly, go back to your graphics editting Program and downsize the square.
12. Your done after that. Just keep repeating Step 11 if you're having Trouble.
13. This is how I editted all my maps. Well, Mine was quicker
