I was recently playing around with 3.51 txt files and realized how repetitive they are. I decided I would look into making a tool to make customizing HB files more efficient. I built a win32 application and ran the 3 main CFG files (GateServer.cfg, HMLServer.cfg, WLserver.cfg) through a read function designed to only read fields inside the GateServer.cfg. Here is the conclusion:

As you can see many of the fields repeat themselves in the 3 files. I was thinking of entering all the repeating fields into 1 variable and writing the same variable to all CFG files so the field only has to be edited once. Anyway I’m looking for feedback on ways to manage this data. If I have to I will go open-source but that’s not a conclusion I’m willing to jump to straight away (Even though this source is very primitive).
