My dream would have been a server with hundreeds people struggling for mounths beetwen level 80 and 110, where an ancient Flam is invaluable, and PvP strictelly controled.

Finally, after 1 year of retirement, I found time and spirit to organise a bit things...

So I organised and uploaded all HB related things I could find...
Included last Server / client, and sources from Equilibrium Project (who finally dyed after more than 3 years online.


They will stay ...

Not difficult, but hard to explain...
Just search in the client how the PFM aura is implemented, then try to understand the way it works.
Paste'n clip, and change PAK values.
Then you must find where the server will send an aura (Status) and choose a free bit.

I have no idea what those sprites were used for in HBChina; but I designed my own uses:
Mantle's spells auras, new mob (Will o wisp), and new visual effect for Priest's spell divine revenge.

Even if I never experimented this crash, few people on Equilibrium Project crashed. I found the very possible bug, and designed a fix.

I prefeer using more RAM in some places. Just think about iCalculateAttack...(..).
This functions is executed very often, and some values are computed every time, even if they really change only when equiping some piece of armor.

I guess HB will be faster if I create a new client class value to ...

.. or use PatchIP launcher.

Hoster puts a small text file on a fixed URL on the net.
Player runs PatchIP, PatchIP fetches the text on the stated place. Of course the text contains current IP.
PatchIP patches the client then run it.

That's working since sept 2003 on HB-Chey, Revival1 Revival2 and ...

A good (or fair) coder is a good thing for a server, but the game concept also needs to be improved, and that's really a more difficult thing...

Coding for HB is not that difficult, only needs some C++ skill and a lot of free time ...

The explanation was gserver-sided: When I added a 3rd city , I forgot an unused table, and of course this table overflew with the 3rd ...

did anyone think of re-writing the encode and decode functions for the hg <- -> client interaction using other methods than already existing?

Not only thinking about, but already done mounths ago by a skilled hacher on Siementec v3.51 client.
